DPMS Communications!
Good evening DPMS families. I hope you are well and feeling sufficiently informed about what is going on at the middle school. If for any reason you do not, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
I have a few bits of information to share with you today to help ensure we are on the same page.
- The first High School Varsity Football HOME football game is tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 4th at 7:00 vs. Clarkston. Admission for adults is $10 and students are $5 or you can purchase a GSL Pass. Because we are in a new league, MS ASB cards do not apply to HS sports entry fees. In addition, for safety reasons, all children under High School age MUST be attended by an adult to be admitted into the game.
- The doors at the middle school are open to students at 8:06. Students dropped off prior this time will need to wait outside of the building. We have adult supervision in the front of the building starting at 7:55. Students who are dropped off by the bus prior to 8:06 are allowed into the cafeteria to eat breakfast.
- Check out our Morning Announcements to read what is announced by our student leaders every morning.
- DPMS Website and live feed calendar.
The fundraiser has gone well the first couple of days but please encourage students to be creative in their efforts! :)
Have a great night and Go Spikes!

DPMS Run60 Fundraiser and Manic Monday!
Good Friday evening DPMS families! I hope this message finds you well and with plans to enjoy the beautiful weekend ahead.
I apologize I didn't get this communication out sooner but today all students had a great time during our Run60 fun run out and around the high school, down Weber and Crawford and back to DPMS. This event is the official kickoff of our one and only fundraiser for year. This fundraiser helps support our Associated Student Body (ASB) which funds all of our fun field trips, Spike Buck incentives, and other student activities. This link to the PLEDGE SHEET to acquire donations has some explanation as well, and was sent home with students earlier this week.
In addition, Monday, September 30th will be our first "Manic" Monday. This hour at the end of the day most every Monday is an important part of our school culture of incentives/accountability. Students who have all their work caught up and are in good academic standing will have an opportunity to pick an activity for that hour. Students who need additional help or time with school work, have been absent or need to retake an assessment may be required to stay in for Study Hall during this time with their specific teacher. This is typically a small group time for students to get what they need academically.
PLEASE, do not pick your child up early from school if they are in Study Hall as this is designed to help, support and hold them accountable here at school.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Have a great night and Go Spikes!

This week, Dr. Allman had a great time riding the bus with our amazing students! She loved meeting new faces and hearing all the wonderful stories. It's always a joy to connect with our students and see the excitement for the school year ahead! 🚌

Many thanks to the Class of 1964 who supported the community project to preserve the Stag Mosaic. The original artist is unknown, however, the mosaic was created circa 1959. The mosaic, which was located at DPMS prior, was sacred. No one was to step on it. To preserve and maintain it, the mosaic has been relocated to DPHS, home of the Stags! Thank you to the DPSD maintenance team for your help and for moving it so very carefully!
