Many thanks to Mayor Verzal for inviting and including the Deer Park School District in the City's Community Parks and Open Space planning process! Although this process is focused on the city's needs, it was inspiring for business leaders (including the Chamber of Commerce) and the City to highly consider the needs of our kids and families! What a great group of representatives from the community. We are excited to see where this planning process takes our community and how we can continue to partner and work together as a cohesive team.

DPHS Baseball update: H3H is back- we once again fight mental health!
Come spend the day with us!
On Sunday, April 27th, DPHS Baseball is hosting the 2nd Annual H3H Marathon Day of Baseball at the DPHS Baseball Field.
We are proud to be one of the only high school baseball program in Washington to take this on—and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Why This Event Matters:
This day is about much more than baseball. We are coming together to raise mental health awareness, especially for student-athletes. One of the day’s highlights will be a powerful presentation by Kimber Erickson of KELLENCARES, a local foundation dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental health.
Mental Health Talk: 12:00 PM in the theatre
Open to all—parents, players, and community members are encouraged to attend
What to Expect:
Baseball games all day
Music & a live emcee to keep the energy high
Silent auction- we could use more items :)
Delicious food
Tons of fun activities for the whole family!
We'll see you on April 27th!

🌟 Thank you to our incredible Deer Park School District community! 🌟
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all community members, board members, staff, and administrators for their dedicated work on our strategic plan. Together, we've reviewed progress, analyzed data, and gathered invaluable feedback from staff, students, and our community. Your thoughts and insights are shaping a vision and long-term plan that will guide us towards even greater excellence.

We are so proud of our DPMS and DPHS musicians! The DPHS and DPMS choirs, along with the 7th and 8th grade bands, earned a Superior rating—a major achievement that highlights the strength of our music programs here at Deer Park! Our students did a fantastic job representing Deer Park. Way to go!

Spring Celebration of Learning!
DPMS families. Here are a few reminders going into our Spring Celebration Open House tonight and Spring Break!
- First off, today, Wednesday, April 2nd is a FULL regular day of school. NO school Thursday and Friday.
- Wednesday, tonight, the Open House will begin at 4:30 and will continue through 7:30. Students must attend with an adult in order to be considered for the Picket Fenced or Froyo gift card drawing!
- 6th Grade Camp Reed information meeting starts at 6:00. This is a very important meeting to attend to get all the information about our overnight outdoor school experience at Camp Reed, May 21st - 23rd.
- Lastly, I wanted you all to know we have been having much discussion about youth "screen time" and device usage. We are hoping to decrease the amount of Chromebook usage here at school and at home as well. As a result, while the computers are always being filtered, we will now make all of YouTube a blocked site for student Chromebooks. We hope to continue to find ways to educate all of us on the importance of protecting our youth from the harmful effects of the digital age we now live in.
Have a wonderful Spring Break and I hope to see you TONIGHT!
Thanks for your time and Go Spikes!

Many thanks to our dedicated educators, pre-K through high school, who attended a day of learning! Educators focused on the science of reading, the alignment of essential standards, establishing routines and practices to support student success, learning how the brain functions, and consistent grading practices.

DPMS 8th grader Kason Dean was a finalist for the national "Win a Babydoll Ewe Lamb Essay Contest"! Kason submitted an essay that described his love for sheep and his plans to raise sheep. The essay detailed his shelter, pasture, and feed. He also wrote about his showing and breeding plans. Way to go Kason!

Friendly reminder: No School Friday, March 14, 2025, for Learning Improvement Day!

Deer Park Middle School Destination Imagination students participated in the Eastern Washington tournament, competing in the "Improv" category. They showcased their quick thinking and creativity through an on-the-spot performance. The competition was tough, but they delivered a hilarious performance of YouTube stars trying to get more likes by traveling from Antarctica to the Eiffel Tower on a camel. Their hard work and teamwork paid off as they secured an impressive 2nd-place finish! Way to go, Spikes!

Many thanks to our Education Support Professionals! We appreciate you!
