Deer Park’s Early Learning Center Preschool/ ECEAP (Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program) is an inclusive-model preschool for income eligible and/or developmentally qualified three and four year old children in the Deer Park School District.
Through ECEAP Washington State provides comprehensive holistic preschool programs that provide free educational and therapeutic services as well as health screening and family support to eligible children and their families. The goal of both ECEAP and Deer Park School District is to provide a strong learning foundation for preschool aged children which will help to ensure that they can enter kindergarten ready to succeed. Children may qualify for enrollment in one of a few ways:
Being three or four years of age by August 31st, before the start of the current school year
Having a family size and qualifying income at or below 110% of the Federal Poverty Level (Some exceptions may apply.)
Having any developmental concerns or already on an IEP
(Note: If you have any concerns regarding your child’s speech or other developmental issues, and would like to request a free screening though the School District for your 3-5 year old, please call Alicia Haynes at 509-464-5680)
Our ECEAP program focuses on age appropriate social, emotional, and developmental skills designed to help children learn through play and a rich variety of curriculum experiences. Opportunities abound for every child to explore through free play, circle time and focused Creative Curriculum unit study activities. We also model Conscious Discipline SEL language and techniques in our classes to help children build their social emotional resiliency skills. When a child is enrolled here, they and their family become part of our School Family!
Preschool classes are four times a week.
Preschool classes are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Friday is a non-student day for teacher meetings and trainings.
Full day sessions run from 8:15 AM- 3:15 PM
Half day morning sessions run from 8:15 AM – 11:15 AM
Half day afternoon sessions run from 12:15 PM – 3:15 PM.
The Early Learning Center offers two School Day (Full Day) PreK classes, primarily for kids who are returning for their second year with us. This includes breakfast, lunch and one snack, as well as a quiet rest time, and outside time.
We also offer three half day PreK classes which include either a breakfast or lunch, a snack, and outside time. Half day classes are an option for all enrolled students.
