Eric Keller has served as a Deer Park School Board Director since 2007 and currently serves as the Board Chair. Initially appointed to fill a vacant director position, he has been re-elected three additional times. Eric has been active with many school board committees. He has spent the most time on the Citizens Facilities Advisory group prioritizing the facility needs of the school district.
Eric grew up on a small farm near Clayton and attended Deer Park Schools, graduating from Deer Park High School in 1988. His high school sweetheart, Debbie, graduated from DPHS in 1989. (Their four children also graduated from Deer Park High School)
After graduating high school, Eric joined the Naval Reserve SEABEES before attending and graduating from the University of Idaho, School of Forestry with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management. He is also a graduate of the Washington Ag-Forestry Leadership Program.
Eric and his family live on a small hay and sheep farm just south of Deer Park where they are active members of the community.
Eric was able to be active with all four of his childrens’ activities. For many years he coached; Pop Warner Football, Little Guy Wrestling, and Little League Softball and Baseball. He and his wife spent many years hauling animals and supervising many kids at the local fairs and livestock shows in the Deer Park/Spokane area. They are still raising and selling lambs to 4-H and FFA kids after 17 years.
Eric currently is the Forest Practices District Manager for the Washington Department of Natural Resources. He has worked for the Department since 2006 and prior to that was a Forester for Boise Cascade. Debbie was the Pharmacy Manager at Bi-Mart Pharmacy until they closed and now works at NEW Health.
