A Little about Deer Park Elementary School
Deer Park located in the beautiful Inland Northwest. Surrounded by fields, forests, lakes and wildlife our school sits in the middle of a large valley, with mountains in three directions; the city of Spokane is approximately 20 miles to the south (see map above). The City of Deer Park presently has a population of well over 3,000 within the city limits, while an additional 13,000 live within about 15 minutes of the downtown area.
Deer Park Elementary School has seen a consistent student population for the last few years, with the K-2 count hovering around 450. Student counts throughout the District have grown very slowly over the past decade; in September 2008, district enrollment was at 2300 students. Enrollment grew to over 2500 in September 2011, and presently sits right around 2450.
DPE serves students in an all-day kindergarten program as well as grades one and two; Deer Park also runs an ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) program located in a building just across the street from the Deer Park Elementary campus. The ECEAP program provides a comprehensive preschool program, providing free services and support to eligible children and their families. The goal of the program is to help ensure all children enter kindergarten ready to succeed! Staff in our school district are committed to providing a positive and productive experience for all students – and the staff here are Deer Park Elementary are no exception.
Parent involvement is a hallmark of Deer Park Elementary. The early years of school provide numerous opportunities for parents to get involved in enriching the school experience for all children – we strongly encourage parents to participate in our school!
The “primary” grades are full of incredible growth. We believe these early years are some of the most important years in school – early childhood development and positive experiences in school play a vital role constructing a solid foundation for academic and social success. Deer Park Elementary School is a place where students experience a positive environment for learning and personal growth!
